re: Euan & Eden's Concert Last Night!
 Oct 24 2005, 09:59:33 AM
Some people aren't put on this earth to be touched and inspired by Eden

I’m pretty sure I’m slightly older than Eden so if anything, she was put on this earth to inspire me (or not). I’m also absolutely certain that my reason for being has very little to do with her.

Ken, Euan sang a tiny bit of Empty Chairs at Empty Tables during a Scott Nevins interview and was fantastic!

Eden still SCREAMS when she sings.

Thank you!! Eden is very talented - her Losing My Mind was brilliant - but she just doesn’t do it for me at all. That high belting kills me every time. It shoots through me like…something very unpleasant.
As for Euan, well, I think he’s very nearly perfect

re: PATIENCE: A look at Michael Ball...

Ooh sorry - forgot to post, kec! I did enjoy Patience! Loved it actually. I wish it was going to be around longer so I could see it a second time. My only complaint is that I was so far up in the 4th ring that I couldn’t see faces, only fleshly colored little blurs. But I could hear perfectly and what I heard was stunning. I took my mother along for her birthday and she was completely floored by Michael Ball. Now I really can’t wait for The Woman in White....

Thanks, everyone, for convi

Harry Potter was filmed at Oxford in England. I think that’s been around a wee bit longer than the Walter Kerr

Thanks for this thread. I’ve been waffling over seeing Patience - wanted to but time constraints and such - I just got tickets for Tuesday night :) I haven’t seen Michael since Chitty in London so I’m very much looking forward to this! Yay!

Thanks - I'll give it a try anyway :)

Yeah that's what I meant, thanks. Where are they selling them? Not at the theatre and the merchandise guy didn't seem to know anything about it.

"write a note the the Producers c/o Zipper Theatre. Include a self addressed stamped 6x9 envelope and they will send you one."

Anyone try this? Does it work? I saw the show this afternoon and really enjoyed it. Would love a CD :)

re: The Phantom and Me

I’ll add one more ‘thank you’ because you’ve just changed my mind about seeing Phantom again. I used to be one of those semi-crazy Phans but things have changed quite a bit over the past few years! Anyway, I recently found out that my favorite Phantom, James Romick, will be covering for Hugh on August 3rd. I wasn’t planning to go but now, dammit, I will!
re: Listening to Taboo...

Seeing Show Business on Monday brought it all back and I feel as if Taboo closed just yesterday…

There’s a new 3 DVD set being released on May 16th. It appears to be a reissue of the London production DVD with more extras. Maybe some Broadway stuff?

(I read someplace that it's 3 DVDs. Don't see that in the listing now though...)

re: Baz Luhrmann's La Boheme on DVD...

Yup, I did. After so many years of seeing Peter as Marius it was such a lovely surprise to hear him sing SO well as Rodolfo. I thought he was stunning. La Boheme was a gorgeous show. Too bad it couldn't stick around longer.

I have the Australian DVD and think it's quite a good representation. Certainly better than nothing!

re: LiveBroadway Credit Card
 Apr 3 2005, 05:24:44 PM
It WAS a good deal when I first got it. Then they doubled the number of points you needed to get anything and mysteriously tripled my APR with no explanation (after they merged with Chase). I turned in my points for Broadway New York gift certificates and transferred my balance to another card.

Have just added a copy of the Never Gonna Dance promo, as well. That's all. Go on about your business...
Brooklyn Promo CD

*Blatant shameless plug*

I'm moving (yay!) and taking the opportunity to get rid of lots of the stuff that's cluttering up my life so.....

If anyone's looking for one of those Brooklyn promo CDs, I've got one up for auction on ebay. I figured there just MIGHT be someone here who's interested. Ya think? Anyway, search for "bklyn promo" and it should come up. Granted, this particular item doesn't take up much space but I find it generally useless.

The last two rows of the balcony at the Majestic are $20 Monday through Thursday. Unless it has changed recently, they’re not student rush tickets. I’ve used these seats in the past and I haven't been a student for a long time!

"When you read his book, you are only getting one version of the truth, his truth."

No kidding. Isn't that the point? If I wanted someone else's opinion, I'd read someone else's book.

I suggest you save all you've written and put it up on a website. Then you can just post the link when you feel you need to say it all yet again. You must be incredibly tired of typing the same words over and over and over...

I was so busy yesterday that I didn’t realise what day it was until about 11 pm. I’m mourning today...

I've got the other DVDs but each day I don't have this documentary, I die a little inside.

Too dramatic? Hmmm...nope!

Another James Romick website, if anyone's interested:

Thank you, Becky. That's the best explaination I've read yet! It's exactly how I feel.
If wee Andy hand-picked Gerard, there had to be a reason for it. After all, it's his musical. I imagine Gerard's is the type of voice he originally wanted for the Phantom. Remember Steve Harley...
