That'll be the 2035 revival.

I am such an idiot, I didn't even think "future Mama Rose Possibilities" as in a replacement to Audra. I just assumed the production closes once she's done.

I also think Martin Short in his prime would be a wonderful.

I would SELL MY SOUL for this.

Ok... so also do I want Amy Sedaris as Mary Todd Lincoln, OR do I want Amy Sedaris as Jerri Blank

Who should host the Tonys?

Yes, but as Mary. Ha!

But even Cole just as themselves would be a riot, and I hope those in charge lean into the absurd. Cole is on their own wavelength and it's resonating with people.

I saw the show in previews with Kaleigh, and the costumes definitely appeared off the rack. On particular moment that is was noticeable, during the moment in "Tell Me, Earnest" when Madeline takes the white coat off and is wearing a cheetah flowy outfit and then sits on the couch with the exact same print, when Kaleigh did it, the fabrics were not the same and the bit wasn't as impactful. It's one of my favorite bits in the show.

***slight spoiler???***

Jamie is usually shirtless in “Nobody needs to know,” (as per the original, revival, and movie)due to the plot implications of the scene.

She sings loudly. She looks great in the costuming.

Her acting hasn't gotten a smidge better and her movement is so placed, it looks less like she's sexy and slinky and more like she's trying not to fall down or trip. It's strange looking.

From friends in the production, she was the 12th choice for the role.

I gotta admit, I had zero interest in seeing this because of how it was described earlier. Essentially readers theater with four actors in chairs. However, the photos they just released actually piqued my interest.

I know it's early, but wondering if anyone has any dream replacement casting ideas? I'd love to see Sherie Rene Scott as either, really.

Viola also seems setup for great stunt casting. A friend suggested Keke Palmer and I think she would be so much fun.

Not sure how realistic either of these are, but it's fun to dream :)

Shoshana Bean/Cynthia Erivo fall out?
 Dec 10 2024, 02:09:06 PM

I guess, for me, it's less about speculating what happened, but more just sad that whatever happened or didn't happened, it means we probably won't get any new collaborations, which is a shame, because they sound so great together.

OK i know this is all a little on the catty side, but I was also scrolling on youtube and found a fun clip of Shoshana and Megan Hilty and realized I hadn't seen them interact/sing together in many years. They seemed so fun together, and then realized they don't follow each other on insta. I would love a reunion of some sort with those two.

GYPSY Previews

I was mindlessly scrolling on Tik Tok and Audra’s “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” from last night popped up. Gotta admit, not my favorite, and she definitely sounds tired at the end of the song, like she’s barely hanging on to keep up. There’s no visual of her, so who knows, maybe her acting choices are supporting this and it’s actually thrilling to see live.

BOOP! heading to Broadway in April 2025
 Nov 20 2024, 05:44:06 PM

I saw this in Chicago. I wanted to enjoy it as a fluff piece and have fun, but I left genuinely confused by the plot and the moment that got the best reaction in the show was when the dog puppet shook it's butt.

I loved the film! Some of my take aways:

- I agree with the Idina/Kristin cameo. It felt way too long. The audience in the screening I was at did have a fun reaction when they appeared.

- I loved how they built the momentum of Defying Gravity, and then as a previous poster mentioned, they bring it to a screeching halt before we finally get the finale. It makes me think we're going to start part 2 with a replay of Madam Morrible's speech.

Seeing the movie in a few hours. It almost doesn't feel real the movie is finally here. I felt like there were so many false starts!
