re: Saw LES MIZ in St. Paul, MN... Feb 13 2006, 01:26:42 PM
Both my mom and my sister agreed with me that the women of the cast were cast weak. Fantine was unbareable. She had no heart in her singing, and I dreamed a Dream was such a let down. Mme. Thénardier was mean, but not nearly as funny as others. In a play this serious you need the Thénardiers for comic relief, and I didn't feel that. We had an understudy(name forgotten) four our Master. Now on the 8th we acctually saw the understudy for Javert and he was by far the best my mother(seen it 5 times) my sister(seen it 3) and I(seen it twice) have seen. The worst was Fantine. There was *no* passion, no tugging at your heart for her, nothing. The review that said the first heart wrencher, I dreamed a D
