Just got this press release in my e-mail. I don't know if this is old news already. Bummer - I was looking forward to seeing it for the first time in Vancouver. Does anyone know the reason for the early ending?

The producers of THE PRODUCERS the new MEL BROOKS musical have announced that the show’s 2nd national touring company (‘Leo’ Co.) will close after its engagement in Japan this July. A third U.S. company of THE PRODUCERS was slated to begin in September, 2005. THE PRODUCERS has a Tony Award-winning book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, Tony Award-winning music and lyrics by Mel Brooks, and Tony Award winning direction and choreography by Susan Stroman. The musical also has Tony Award winning set design by Robin Wagner, Tony Award winning costume design by William Ivey Long, Tony Award winning lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski, and sound design by Steve Kennedy.
