Hairspray question

I saw somewhere online that said Hairspray has $35.00 student tickets. Can someone tell me
1. Is this true
2. If so what time do they go on sale and all that
3. I know about the lottery but when I saw that I wanted detais about that

never done them, but i know they are weeknights only and in the mezzanine.

broadwayguy is right.
another cheap option, with a better view, is $20 for standing room tickets in the orchestra, if you can deal with standing for 2 1/2 hours. it's totally worth it, though - i do it all the time

Jess, can you buy the standing room tickets if the show isn't sold out? Given its overall numbers, I wouldn't expect the show to be selling out regularly.

It's possible. I saw Into the Woods revival towards the end of its run with standing room, despite the show not selling out. Sometiems if numbers are low, they'll get people in anyway they can, and then seat the standing. It happens every now and then, although I don't know if they do this anymore.

does the second post in this thread not say that student tickets are in the mezz? I'd guess they're in the mezz then. But that's just me.

Ok and I just called the theater a couple of days ago and they told me that the lottery seats were rear mezz. This seems odd to me
