With the casting of Mr. Robert Goulet in the splashy Broadway LA CAGE AUX FOLLES there has been interest peeked in several Recording Labels to now record the show.

score, with songs and music excluded from the original cast album.

The folks at Theatreland Productions are behind the project, and searching for the $$ that the LA CAGE producers will not put up.

I am their voice on this board, if you'd like more information please contact them.

The record labels are willing to put up some $, "PC Classics" specifically, but without the initial investment, the trepedation is understandable.

If anyone knows ANYONE who would be willing to invest in this project, please please contact "Theatreland Productions" and ask for Robert.

Mr. Roxy - I think the Tony Nominations and Awards will bring the reality to the proceedings.

But having backers on board will help a GREAT deal get this project underway - PLEASE HELP!

This would be nice. It is a shame Daniel Davis has issues withthe show. I always thought he was hysterical in THE NANNY

I agree with you - Daniel Davis was amazing in this show. Several critics actually felt the emotional heart of the drama had switched from Albin to Georges - what does that tell you?His is the voice I would want to hear singing those songs again - there is pure music and emotion in it.

Davis was one of the best things in the show. His voice was oustanding & he outacted Beach (who I like) by a country mile.

I saw the original production & Hearn was more dimensional. Beach makes the part like a caricature & he cannot hold a candle to Davis or Hearn in the original

Had an album been done with Davis, I would have bought it. I will pass on the album with Goulet

Daniel Davis was the best thing about the revival and his rendition of "Song On the Sand" was truly breathtaking. I love listening to it, as well as the entire La Cage score.

Oh wait it hasn't been recorded.


Thank god for the internet - you can find recordings there that haven't even been made.

I'm with you Marc. I'd pay premium prices for a CD with Davis on it but I wouldn't part with a nickel for Goulet. Once upon a time he was an incredible singer - but not anymore.

PS Classics and several other have raised a brow and are interested and willing to put up some $$ for the project if the producer can come up with a considerable amount of change as well.
