Again, I proclaim my love for Rosie O' Donnell, and her former television show.
This woman has made such an impact on me, and I will forever adore her.
At the moment, I am watching her third to last episode. It is the episode where she reminincses about her past 6 years in the show.
1) Lion King performance, and her encounter backstage with Julie Taymor in her dressing room.
2) Her lifetime dream come true - an interview with Barbra Streisand.
3) Whitney Houston canceling her HOUR block on the show 15 minutes before it begins.
4) Columbine, and her interview with Tom Selleck.
5) A visit from Andy Dick, tap dancing in his Calvin Kleins.
6) Superkids.
7) Breast Cancer awareness.
8 ) A boy had a postcard from the Titanic - an original, signed by a survivor. He wanted to auction it to raise $60,000 for his best friend's mother, who needed a bone marrow transplant in order to live.
The cast of TITANIC came out, with a huge $60,000 oversized check, and his friend's mother lived.
9) Rosie tap dancing with Dick Van Dyke to "Step In Time" with a chorus, from MARY POPPINS.
10) A visit from Elmo.
11) Rosie being extremely ill, but still doing her show, because JFK Jr. was booked.
12) An audience member challenges her at MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW trivia.
13) Anya Lasangna taking her desk, and receiving new ones specially made from companies.
14) Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
15) Survivor, and Amazing Race.
16) Rosie takes Janet for a mammogram.
17) Rosie interviews Barbra Streisand, at her home, and steals a rose from her garden.
18 ) Rosie's high school reunion.
19) Elsa Spira wins the lottery, getting a lifetime of McDonald's gift certificates.
20) Rosie slices her finger carving a pumpkin, nearly losing it for good.
21) Rosie celebrates her 1000th show, FUNNY GIRL style!
22) September 11th halts production for weeks.
23) After 9/11, Liza Minelli comes on the show to sing "New York, New York." At the end, a glint of tears sparkles in her eye, reflecting off the lights. Rosie cries.
24) Betty Buckley comes on the show to sing, but in rehearsal, Rosie requests she changes her song, because it was too sad. She ended up singing "Stars & The Moon."
25) A Superkid gives up half her full scholarship to go to the 9/11 Fund. "People who give the most are those who have the least."
So there you go. 25 of just a DROP of the best moments from the ROSIE O' DONNELL SHOW.
What are some of your favorite memories?
One of mine is Linda Eder. Her first of two performances on the show, Rosie had been bragging all week that she went to a concert and heard this woman sing, and it moved her dearly. I made sure to watch. She sang "Vienna," and I cried. The next day, I bought her album, and I cried. That performance was SO powerful - it was very overwhelming.
God bless Rosie O' Donnell. This woman, this GREAT woman...
I can't put it to words as to how highly I respect her.
Her magazine didn't work out, TABOO sadly didn't work out, I think its time Rosie revive her show.
