The character is written to be annoying...She tackled it with humor and appropriate whineings. And vocally, she was lovely.

I only saw her in the Peters/Stritch cast and liked her overall. She looked ravishing and has a good voice, and while I found her acting choices somewhat eccentric perhaps, her Anne seemed to match Bernadette Peters' also somewhat odd line readings (and before anybody jumps down my throat, I thought BP was magical), so I had the sense, for the first time ever in seeing a few productions of ALNM,that maybe Fredrik is repeatedly attracted to the same kind of quirky women and that Anne was, on the surface at least, like a young Desiree. Not having seen CZJ, I don't know if Ms Mallory adjusted her performance when the second cast took over.
