(of course, YAGMCB really is not all that great, it just has some fun songs, but most of the scenes are pretty hokey, just my opinion...) "

You are aware that Lippa only write two songs for that revival, right?

I think it's good that Disney is doing something original.

If they start pumping their money, materials, and marketing into new works, and those shows are successful- it may inspire/ convince people to write new works instead of relying on previously successful films to draw in an audience

Also- a writer I know has met with producers at disney who are intersted in starting another division that would produce non "blockbuster" style theater- like indie theater. It hasn't gone anywhere- but who knows?
