Witty, funny, too gross, too long, and great chemistry among the cast.

And Jill Clayburgh plays Kristen's mother, in what is prob her last performance. And the film does not pay tribute to her over end credits. Shame.

You will learn one important lesson from this film: if you want to date a cute cop, never fix your rear tail lights. :)

I have to say I have soft spot for the C word, I just think it can make for some of the best jokes (and I apologize for who I offense, I consider myself a feminist but I still think it makes for really funny exchanges if used in a smart way).
PRS, how was Rose Byrne? I know you're also a fan of DAMAGES, was curious how she was in this since the roles are SO different.

I saw it last night. I would give it 4.5/5. It was about a half hour too long, a problem that could have been solved by cutting some of the long-running gags in half. I would have had more of a problem with this aspect of the movie if the gags weren't so damn funny.

The casting was excellent, though I wish Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper had more to do. But Kristen Wiig and Rose Byrne were hysterical. My one qualm with their relationship was that *SPOILER ALERT* I wish Annie had slapped the **** out of Helen. It would have been a great payoff for Annie's character. **/SPOILER**

I plan on seeing it tomorrow or Monday - sounds like a blast to see.

Looks like the movie is at #2 with 24.4 Million. Nice take.

I also agree the film was way too long. I like that Wiig steered clear of using too many of her SNL mannerisms and inhabited the character of Annie and gave her some real depth. I think the acting chops of Maya Rudolph helped Kristen get a bit deeper.

However, I think the film kinda belongs to Melissa McCarthy, giving a pretty fearless performance as Meghan and gives the movie much of its tender heart at the end.

I was pleased that the gross out stuff was not taken as far as I thought they would and was done to the point of really funny but not overkill.

The best moment for me was Kristen and Rose in the car trying to get Rhodes attention. Classic Wiig pulling out all the stops.

I think the film was really well done and the running time was lengthened by the "bits" that were really given time to develop like the engagement party speeches and the entire airplane saga.

A nice diversion for a Saturday afternoon.

Borstal-I totally agree with you. I was so PLEASED to discover that the best bits were NOT in the trailer, so you weren't seeing re-hash on the screen. Brilliant marketing!

Saw it today and really liked it.

It may sound odd, but I thought it was far more character driven then I expected. I found Wiig great and believable in her downward spiral, and Rose Byrne petty prettiness all too familiar (in a good way).

I have been to enough showers, weddings and the like to witness a lot of what was shown in real life (in far muted tones).

And Clayburgh as the mom just added icing to the cake.

A little long, but all in all, well done!
