Kevin,

Thanks for the memories.

I loved that theatre.

I saw so many wonderful plays there, including my all-time favorite, Forty Carats with Julie Harris.

I still can't believe they tore those theaters down.

And look at this program!

So there actually WAS a "Drowsy Chaperone"? from RC in Austin, Texas

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Thanks for these! I only discovered the other day that the Morosco is where Death of a Salesman premiered, after reading up on the play's history having thoroughly enjoyed the current revival at the Ethel Barrymore. Really sad that the theatre where this great American classic premiered is no longer with us. The Marquis is a pretty soulless theatre (with soulless ushers to match!).
