I was also at the final performance last night of Brigadoon at the Goodman. I would agree with all of what is stated in the above comments though having seen three performances during the beginning middle and end of the run I would add that Kevin Earley has become better at portraying Tommy in the non singing scenes. However, if the show had to be recast for Broadway he is the only one of the leads I would seriously consider changing. Great voice but somehow not enough emotion. Jennie Sophia is truly a director's dream casting and has the quintessential female Broadway voice. Her duet with Earley of "Almost Like Being in Love" stopped the show with prolonged applause and bravos each time I saw it.

As indicated, the dancing and choreography in this production are exceptional and had me teary eyed with joy at times.

Like others above I would have a few small quibbles about some staging decisions but if the audience reaction during and at the end of the show and comments I heard on the way out are any indication, they would be foolish not to give this production a future life (or at least make a full recording).

This production is one of those somewhat rare nights in the theatre today where the purpose/magic of musical theatre is fully realized.

Another look at "Almost Like Being in Love":
