cats new cast cd

hi do you guys think that the new cats will get a cast cd made because that would be cool

said this in another thread, I'd love one too, once it is complete, but Im not holding my breath as they always complain how expensive they are to produce. My guess is they probably will only do a single of Leona singing Memory. Back when Nicole did it in london there was the same question and even to do just the single was deemed too expensive, so who knows.

not sure it is entirely necessary...there are already SO many cast recordings from all over the world.

There are pictures of Leona and ALW in the studio from June 20 recording 'Memory' so it should be coming out soon I hope

I need to find those 2 japan recordings somewhere, do you know if that first one is like the first phantom one that is hard to find?

I prefer the fuller recordings but I think I might need to look for that Mexican and Italian ones also

Hamburg is always my favourite
the Eastern Euro ones my least faves

sorry Justin... I have no idea on the ease/difficulty of finding any of these.

I just referenced the list online as a point of reference that there are SO many cast recordings already. I love Cats and have a preference for the specific recording I first listened to. Others aren't bad but they aren't what I reach for or want. In fact, before I go see a revival I try to not listen to the recording I am familiar with for a while so that I don't compare it that closely.

The only reason why I would want one is because the original Broadway cast recording sounds nothing like how the show was at the end of its run and even completely different from the VHS/DVD As well. Well I kinda love this entire cast to death as well so that might be another reason why!

I would love to have a new cast recording, especially to get Quentin's vocals as Old Deuteronomy.  I saw Cats several times, but the last time was in 1992.  The only difference I recall from the original Broadway cast recording is that Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer were sung by both of them, instead of Munkustrap.  What were the differences at the end of the run? Thanks.
