i've heard amazing things about it from the press, and i cannot wait to see it! i most likely won't get to see it until it comes to dvd though, unless i go to dallas or austin sometime soon. i'm glad to hear it wasn't just "hype" but that you guys found it genuinely moving. you guys who are going to see it soon, post some reviews!

This past weekend, playing on only 64 screens, MARCH OF THE PENGUINS came in number 13 at the box office - with a per screen average of just under $16,000, which was the highest (beating even the number one movie!) I'm so happy this film is being embraced by so many re: MARCH OF THE PENGUINS.

FYI - within the next two weeks, it is scheduled to have expanded to around 500 screens nationwide.

"How in the world did they get those shots?"

That's EXACTLY what I thought when I saw Winged Migration. March of the Penguins is showing at the Loews Esquire and the Music Box in Chicago, so I will definitely check this out.

Ok. Too funny. I hadn't seen this thread. Driving through Capitol Hill this weekend, I saw it's playing at the Egyptian, and totally thought "Oh, there's a movie for DG". Hm... maybe we'll go see it tonight.

I've been telling everyone to see it - my mother saw it, and my grandmother, and my brother...I'd have my Dad see it, but he'd sleep through it.

I saw this film last week and was totally blown away. There was a point in the film where I suddenly thought "Why is my face all wet?" and I realized I had been crying for about 5 minutes.

Young or old, innocent or jaded, Piazza or Rent: SEE THIS FILM.

Jarico and I saw the film and loved it! It is truly amazing what these guys go through and how they know to do it. I was flabbergasted.

Matty - Flabbergasted is one of my alltime favorite words!

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

redhot -I found that word especially apropos in describing this film. Mainly because it was such a surprise.

DAME - Not a good 420 film. I recommend Songs From the Second Floor as a very good 420 film.

I'm taking particular delight in the fact that it has out-grossed STEALTH, and this weekend will likely pass THE ISLAND.
