Original theatrical versions of 'Star Wars' coming to DVD...

It's finally been announced. For those die-hard fans of Star Wars, you probably know that George Lucas said these films would NEVER be shown or released in their original (first run) theatrical versions again. He's been saying that for years now.

...Never say never.

I knew for a fact they would come out. Lucas and Spielberg are the epitome of sell it to em, sell it to em again, sell it to em AGAIN, wait a little while and sell it to em again hucksters. I never believed his bull**** for a minute that they would never come out.

After you buy each one individually, you'll have to buy the DELUXE box set that has the original version, plus the slightly improved versions ("Now with 20% brigher stars!") first re-released in theaters that comes with a piece of the story board from a deleted scene.

What's annoying is that after this comes out, next year they'll have a another special edition version where you can buy all six together, that includes the deleted scenes.

Yup. the a-hole didn't put deleted scenes on the DVD for IV, V, and VI--and they exist.

I didn't buy the new ones and unless I can get 'Star Wars' -- all by itself, no trilogy, as it was released to theaters originally -- I won't buy these either.

That's why I didn't buy the DVDs. I knew since the deleted scenes weren't on there, they were waiting to release all six together and get more money out of us.

oh I would be willing to place a bet on that!

He wanted Episode IV: A New Hope on the film when it first came out, but the studio thought it would be confusing or a bad sell. Then when it was a smash hit, he added it for the re-release IN THE 70s.

I bet you it's on there.
