Being bored by myself over here, I've often noticed that there are a few of us BWW posters located in the Southern California, more specifically LA County Area. Maybe we should all get together one day, see a show, that sort of thing. "Dorian" or something like that is opening soon...
So who else lives in these areas? I'm in the UCLA area.

I'm in the Inland Empire - Alta Loma to be exact.
And Boobs, if you make it out here we BETTER get together! NYadgal says she comes about once a month, so you should see if you can be here then - and we'll cause some trouble in the little city

Posted: 9/5/04 at 3:05pmGalindafied - the only thing I can think to say is a quote from The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie: "For people who like that sort of thing, that's the sort of thing they like." It apparently is exactly what a great many people here are looking for - we just don't happen to be among them. We'll be leaving in two years, after he takes an early retirement from teaching. For me, I REALLY need to be closer to what it is that we enjoy about this region.

Posted: 9/5/04 at 3:11pmDG, I agree, I'm moving to NY the second that I graduate college. What I meant was it's fun to grow up in, there's stuff to do, but not to many people and not a lot of violence.

Posted: 9/5/04 at 3:14pmSo, you SoCal girls, I'm free most weekdays - maybe we could all meet at the Samuel French bookstore up on Sunset in the late morning and have fun looking at all the goodies, and then go down to Canters for lunch?

Almost Happy Birthday, DGrant!
That sounds like my idea of heaven. We really should plan it for one of these days. I don't do much during the day because I can't get a job worth my time.
When did we get a Samuel French?

Just to let everyone know who might be interested: A couple of us are going to meet at the Samuel French bookstore on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood at 10am on Tuesday, September 14th. That will give us a central meeting point, and after we do a little drooling over all the things we want at the store, then we'll head down Fairfax to Canters for a nice lunch.
Anyone who is able to is more than welcome to come - just PM me so we know to look for you there

Well Kids- I'd love love love to go, but sadly I have school in Riverside at the same time and rehearsal for my LA COUNTY FAIR gig at night from 6-9pm. I would love to hang with all of you, but until the 26th- I have signed my life away to the LA COUNTY FAIR
PLUG- If you guys are in the area. I am performing in a 15 minute 5 person Motown review at the Fair. At the Cabana Sunset stage to be exact. There is some great talent in it and a nice excuse to hear great diva black girls (and myself) belt out the classics.. haha
I am also seeing RENT at the OCPAC on Saturday the 18th.
Sorry- I can't make it. Keep me posted on the next outtings..
