it's time i admitted what i know here to you all. my friend, namo, agred to meet with me for a night on the town. this was only a short time ago, but it was, shall we say, an eventful evening. i can't go into the details as this is a family board but suffice it to say that dionysis could have taken lessons. i almost regret the virgin sacrifices, but then who'd have ever guessed that we would find virgins in nyc?
the shocking upshot of this wild night was a sea change in the namo that we all knew. i can't put my finger on what exactly did it (although i tried, dammit, and so did a host of others), but something about that night affected namo in a deep and profound manner.
shortly afterwards i found that he'd quit his job. this worried me until i found out that he'd taken a new job as an investment banker for goldman sachs. his old residence was scuttled for new trump tower digs from which you can see all the way to boston. he invited the mrs. and myself out for dinner to his new exclusive table at rao's uptown. when we got there we were shocked to find namo in a silk suit, pinky ring with a super model lounging in his lap (i can't say which one of course, but she is decidedly female!). the shocks did not stop there, his face was thinner than i remembered and he told me that it was his new addiction: pilates.
perhaps the most frightening thing was the way he dismissed his long held political convictions as "youthful folly" and affirmed to me that he had just achieved "super ranger status" in the bush campaign. i spilled my seltzer at that point and began wondering if this was in fact a flashback to my drug addled college years when he asked about the board. i told him that it was not the same without him, and asked if he'd be back. he smiled and shook his head, i just don't have time for that now and kissed his date.
i want to offer my deepest, most heartfelt apologies to the group since while i am pleased as punch that he's doing so much for the bush cheney campaign, i miss the scrapper that we all knew and loved. ah well, we have his old posts to savor and we can all rest peacefully, knowing that namo has at last found happiness.

This is a sad story. I guess Namo should have known that one night on the town with you can change a person forever. Alas, he was foolish and didn't heed the warning signs. We'll miss him terribly.
By the way, I hear that Google just a huge surge from people doing searches on Dionysis.

"Dion-isis" is Celine's new show in VEGAS. Is she bringing it to New York? Will this be her Broadway Debut? When do tickets go on sale? Is Billy Chrystal in it? Jackie Mason?
Papa, give Namo our love.

Posted: 6/25/04 at 11:54ami would pass along those greetings sueleen, however, namo's on a south sea island for the weekend with his squeeze and a few of her friends and he pointedly left his cell phone at home. we can reach him on monday when he and the gals return, tanned, rested and still picking sand out of their assorted orifices.

having heard from namo as he was enroute to the south seas, he told me all about your evening out and about his planned escape in the land of sadie thompson.
what he apparently didn't tell you, papa, was that he took me up on my offer to buy him a drink or two. That occured one or two nights before he met up with you. he and i hit it off swimmingly in person and it was a long night of martinis and laughter.
in my last conversation together he was looking forward to joining in the next bww.com get together, and even suggested that i set something up to welcome him back.
any takers?

now jose' i was worried about that night actually. he kept mentioning something about adrenochrome, kinda chanting, "it's absolutely pure" and got more than a little psychotic whenever anybody called for the waiter at the mexican joint we hit that night. what the hell was his name? and dogs. any kinda dogs were setting him off that night.
he did tell some long tale of bumping into someone at a bar and that no matter where he went kept finding himself next to the person. which got bad when the person turned out to be a macy's day balloon run amok and given life by a particularly fickle egyptian goddess, i don't know which. but he couldn't quite be sure if it was real or just some ether induced nightmare. my money's on the power of adrenochrome and ether.
i'll be sure to pass that account along to him.

namo has sent me a coconut telegram which says:
"jose'. stop. rather ingest broken glass through urethra. stop. than spend nanosecond with you. stop. stop. stop. gasbag. stop. stop."
i take no responsibility for the contents of this message and merely pass it along. it smelled of limes and sex.
