Anyone know how close the play is to the movie?

I've heard it's pretty close (Sorkin wrote both). I've only seen the movie.

I've see them both and I think it's pretty close.

"Smart! And into all those exotic mystiques -- The Kama Sutra and Chinese techniques. I hear she knows more than seventy-five. Call me tomorrow if you're still alive!"

It's pretty close... all the dialogue is the same. Some of the voice overs in the movie were turned into monologues and put in a different spot in the show. Some of the settings are altered, but very minor. I played Downey two years ago. About 98% the same... PM me if you need more details.

And if she'll say, "My darling, I'm yours!" I'll throw away my striped tie and my best pressed tweed, all I really need is the girl...

The play came before the movie, so you should have said "some of the monologues in the play were turned into voice-overs in the movie".
