A source on TalkinBroadway is claiming that the announced production of GYPSY starring Maria Friedman in Odessa, Texas has gone the route of the Buckley-Hensley SWEENEY.
If that's the case, you have to wonder what happened to the theatre's finances (or question whether the 20 year old producer really ever had them).

If that's the case, it also makes you wonder if all the Betty Buckley nay-sayers weren't completely wrong regarding her having something to do with Sweeney's cancellation.

Yikes. I don't know if the production is cancelled, but both Maria and Bernadette Peters have cancelled their trips to Odessa. Too bad. Embarrsssing situation.
