re: Hairspray 2010

Only time will tell.

I don't know how many people visit this messageboard. It's curious though since this thread in particular has nearly 4,500 views.

I guess it's just you and me for now, kid re: Hairspray 2010

re: Hairspray 2010

Perhaps it is a typo, it should read 4.5 views.

re: Hairspray 2010

Back again, I hope it's not shane!
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

re: Hairspray 2010

Nice to have you back. We all hope it's not Shane.

I still say Mick Molloy is a good choice.

re: Hairspray 2010

Blaaah! I told you I won't have it.

Welcome back rosscoe, now there are three.

re: Hairspray 2010

I'm sorry but you lost credibility when you suggested Wilbur Wilde re: Hairspray 2010
#32

re: Hairspray 2010

Can you honestly see the lowlife Mick Molloy even being able to maintain any sort of
American accent...and he can't act...or sing. It would be the worst piece of casting since Paul Mc Dermott in EASTWICK.

re: Hairspray 2010

Paul McDermott was in WITCHES OF EASTWICK??? My God, I saw him in January in Opera In The Domain's CANDIDE, and he was cringe-worthy!

I'll renounce Mick Molloy if you can prove to me that Wilbur Wilde can act and do an American accent.

re: Hairspray 2010

I never said he was my idea, I said a friend suggested it and thought it workable. Still do but it won't happen any more than Mick Molloy will. There is another very valid reason why Molloy couldn't do it but I can't go into it here.

Do you think Rob Mills could be in it ? Suits the mould.

re: Hairspray 2010

I think Mills is still having a ball on WICKED. But he could easily get the Link or Corny role.

What about Casey Donovan for Tracy Turnblad?
#36

re: Hairspray 2010

No, just guessing but I'd go with the girl from Bogan Pride/Fat Pizza. Mills is leaving WICKED in June.
#37

re: Hairspray 2010

I suggested her in the 2nd post in this thread.

Didn't know about Mills leaving WICKED. I'd say he's a shoe-in for HAIRSPRAY.

re: Hairspray 2010

Mills auditioned for Hairspray a week or so back.

Who is Trevor Ashley, he might be in the running for Edna?

re: Hairspray 2010

Trevor Ashley does a lot of drag in Sydney. I saw him do "Everybody's Gal" from STEEL PIER at HATS OFF a few years ago and he was quite good. I do think he's too young for the role, though -- he's very baby-faced.

re: Hairspray 2010

Reg Livermore as Wilbur? Bert will be put in i bet just for namesake. I reckon Shanes too young for the role.
#41

re: Hairspray 2010

Mills auditioned for corny i think, Daniel Scott from priscilla would be great at Corny
#42

re: Hairspray 2010

I can accept Mills as Corny and Reg as Wilbur.
#43

re: Hairspray 2010

Livermore won't do 8 shows a week. You also need someone who is a little heavier. I understand Mills, Scott, Ashley are all short listed as are Jacqui Rae, Rachel Beck and David Harris.
#44

re: Hairspray 2010

I heard like an hour a go from a friend of the MD that one name is being 'seriously considered' for the role of Edna Turnblad...Tom Burlinson! Leo from the Producers if i recall? Which role is Beck shortlised for? Does anyone think Bert would at least do Edna for a few weeks?
#45

re: Hairspray 2010

I believe Livermore is being touted for Wilbur, not Edna, so he doesn't need to be "heavier".

Rae, Beck and Harris would all be good. Harris would make an excellent Corny -- good looking and can sing.

Tom Burlinson as Edna is a terrible choice. He's just all wrong. I'd rather see Mick Molloy over him any day.

re: Hairspray 2010

do you think they will cast an unknown actor as edna?
#47

re: Hairspray 2010

Only if they can't get a name to do it justice.
#48

re: Hairspray 2010

I'd wager big money that neither Newton or Livermore will be part of this show. (Why you want to see Bert Newton? We've seen his acting).
#49

re: Hairspray 2010

You'll need to specify who the "you" of "Why you want to see Bert Newton" is. I never need to see him in another show.
#50

re: Hairspray 2010

The "who" is theatrekid90.
