Well here's a few that I could think of:
Ballad:
Heaven Help My Heart from Chess
With One Look from Sunset Boulevard
So in Love from Kiss Me Kate
Before the Parade Passes By from Hello Dolly
The Girl I mean to Be and Hold on, both from Secret Garden
UpTempo:
The Gentleman is a Dope from Allegro
WallStreet from Dames at Sea
The Life of the Party from Wild Party

Thanks so much! Any ideas for my Hairspray audition?
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu#5re: Help for auditions

oh yeah forgot about that one! sorry haha
well first rule of thumb, nothing from the musical.
Um maybe you could try something from Grease? Even though those tend to be overdone. Basically anything uptempo from the 50's-60's could work, as they're very similar in type.
