I was recently cast as Pip in a regional production of Moby Dick and I was wondering if anyone has seen this show? I haven't gotten the script yet so I'm not sure about the actual book to the show but I did rehearse a few of the numbers and the music is pretty good, odd, but good. Any oponions would be awesome!

I have a soft spot for this show as it was the first West End musical I ever saw - it's utterly insane. It wants nothing more than to simply entertain and have a good time, with some pretty sharp in-jokes thrown in for good measure. Ahab was played by man playing a woman, playing a man (don't ask) and most of the cast were supposedly leggy school girls, in the manner of the St. Trinians (sp?) films.

There is a 2CD live cast recording of the original London show available, but I believe that it has been slightly revised since that first unsuccessful production.
