My Sister's Keeper

Oh my God! I read this book over the summer and cried like a damn baby! I haven't read anything else by her, but now I want to.

I stayed up all night because I just couldn't stop reading this book (this was about 3 years ago).

The only other book I've read without stopping until finished was Anthony's Rapp's "Without You."

"The Pact" is also very good...about a young teenage couple who make a suicide pact, but only one of them dies, and the other is charged with murder.

My favorite recent Jodi Picoult was "The Tenth Circle". In the story the father writes comic books, and incorporates his life into the storyline, so part of the story is told through a graphic novel. It's very cool!

I rarely hate any book I read, but I utterly LOATHED My Sister's Keeper. Worst ending of any book I have EVER read.

I don't know that I 'hated' this book, but I will agree that it was one of the *worst* endings of a book that I have read in a while, so it's nice to know others feel the same- I thought the end was *such* a cop-out!

Up until that point it was an ok read, I was actually pretty fascinated by the Anissa Ayala case when I was younger, with all of the 'what is the *right* reason to have a child' rhetoric, and so I was interested to read a fictionalized 'what if' of 13 years down the road. But...(spoilers?)...that ending made it feel like the author couldn't decide who was 'right' and who was 'wrong,' inasfar as the court proceedings went, and so she wanted everybody to get what they wanted/needed, and in doing so I just completely rolled my eyes from the car accident to the end, I was so emotionally uninvested once I realized what she was doing.

i was all excited to get it in the mail from amazon beacuse i heard so many good things about it, but it did not live up ot my expectations.

JG2. you can't write spoiler and not expect me to read it. It's like when your parents tell you not to touch the hot iron, but you do it anyway. And it hurts. A lot. Reverse psychology works wonders with me.

I've read and enjoyed all of Jodi Piccoult's books. I just enjoy a good interesting story. I'm not one to pick apart someone's literary work. So if you like a good story, with interesting characters, read any of her books. I also HIGHLY recommend The Book of Joe by Jonathan Tropper. Anyone read that?
