Question About Hand Written Sondheim Sheet Music

A number of years ago, I purchased hand written musical scores for several of Sondheim songs, mostly from Sunday In The Park With George. They are written in pencil and my understanding was/is that he has worked with the same person for years who was responsible for transposing his music by hand onto sheet music.
