Well, RENT was once cool and new but this year the man who invented Mulan Rooj (sp?) did a new version of Rent that is based on the basic story of Rent but instead did it in Italian, which is so hip because you couldn't understand it unless you know how to talk Italian or at least listen Italian. Anyway, it was the same basic story but instead of AIDS, it was the coughing version of AIDS. It was really good
but you had to read
because as I said it was in Italian but they put the words in normal language like in a book but of light on the stage where you read them.

Posted: 8/25/03 at 6:20pmi'm not really a big fan. i found it kind of boring. there was nothing in it that really made me want to keep watching it.

Posted: 8/25/03 at 7:41pmUm, when you said this: "this year the man who invented Mulan Rooj (sp?) did a new version of Rent that is based on the basic story of Rent but instead did it in Italian, which is so hip because you couldn't understand it unless you know how to talk Italian or at least listen Italian." You did know that La Boheme was the basis for Rent, not the other way around, yes?
re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: RENT#18
Posted: 8/25/03 at 7:53pmand you also know that moulin rouge(or however you spell it) the movie was also kinda based on la boheme and had the la boheme sign in it

Moulin Rouge wasn't "kinda" based on La Boheme, it was entirely based on Verdi's La Traviata.
Namo, you're my new favourite person for the La Boheme post.

Posted: 8/25/03 at 8:47pmRENT is my absolute favorite show in history. I love it because it offers more depth and reality then say, Starlight Express or Jesus Christ Superstar. I love it, but not a lot of other people do. I've seen it twice and I'm going to see it again in March. I love RENT!

Posted: 8/25/03 at 9:57pmThank you Vicious! And Sid was my fifth favorite Sex Pistol. The other four of whom I saw in concert this week. That's some serious rock theater right there, lemme tell ya. They are referenced in La Vie Boheme from RENT! Which is prolly where they got the idea for the title for the Italian version of RENT by the guy Biz Lursinessman or whomever.

Posted: 8/25/03 at 10:11pmLa Boheme and Moulin Rouge are alike because they were directed by the same director.
