Rumors of certain musicals for my high school

They have not decided on a final musical to put on at John Jay High School in Cross River, NY (that's my high school, by the way) but here are the ones I've been hearing.

At first, I've heard Damn Yankees. Then I heard Company, which I really want to do since I've never seen the musical in my life.

Now I'm hearing that they're thinking of doing Grease (for the second time) or West Side Story (for the THIRD time). I also heard from one source that they are thinking about Nunsense as well, which I think is the lamest of them all since that one requires an small all-female cast.

Well, in my opinion, they need to put on one of the former musicals since we did Into the Woods last year and that had no chorus. (We need to make up for a few things, you know.)

What do you guys think? Which one should we do?

they most definitely shouldn't do company. no high school should...i think it's way out of every high school's league, personally.

Regardless of how you feel about it, Grease is just about perfect for high schools. Some parts of it are a bit dirty (nothing too bad, though. Conservative high schools might change a few lines, but nothing too bad), but it is an ensemble show with lots of featured roles, which is necessary for high school shows. Plus, you can have a very large ensemble for Grease, another big plus.

I happen to love Grease, no matter how bad it is. I wish my high school or community theater did it.

we were told to change a few lines in Grease...the school even got complaint calls apparently after students saw an open preview....did we listen? of course not, and nobody noticed on show nite.
