re: Spring Awakening Tix

I really enjoyed Matt Doyle's performance....but I hate to admit that I feel underwhelmed listening to the OBCR....I heard several members of the audience exclaiming they couldnt understand the story, and found it confusing....I think the show was a refreshing change, something different, and I hope it catches on during it's limited run....All that's left for this season is Riverdance!

re: Spring Awakening Tix

Went for a second viewing of Spring Awakening Tuesday night, and enjoyed it much more from the orchestra (about 10th row) than from the mezz (front row, far side). I think you need to be close, be in touch with the actors and the lights and the music, and the size of the Canon works against the show. Cast was not as flat (unenergetic flat, not vocally flat) as I remembered from the first Tuesday perf, and I again give props to Blake Bashoff who brings it every night. Toronto audiences still dull... perhaps other nights of the week bring more young people? This show needs some fanboys and fangirls in the audience. Would like to see SA one more time from the stage seats. Will not go on a Tuesday.

Intrigued by the talk of a movie version:

re: Spring Awakening Tix

Apparently all the on stage seats are sold out. My friend inquired about going to see it a second time from the stage, and the lady at the box office told her that they sold pretty quickly. Darn!

Toronto audiences really need to step it up! When I saw it on the 18th, the audience was flat save for a few enthusiastic theatregoers. It's embarrassing! C'mon people, get excited for once!

Sunday April 5th, the cast of SPRING AWAKENING will performa at Tallulah's Cabaret (12 Alexander Street) as part of SHAMELESS SUNDAYS. 8 PM. No cover charge. Come out and sing, drink, mingle.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

I went to the box office today and indeed the stage seats are sold out for the rest of the run.
