Possibly at Colony Music in New York. I think they do mail order.

What a fun litle show. very dated now. but fun. You might want to try your local library. I know my local branch here in Los Angeles has it.
I loved the original production. I wish it would be revived. It would sound very dated though. Very disco era. Maybe a little re-orchestration? Just imagine the stunt casting!!

It is one of my favorites. I think I saw the original production 5 times with various cast. I have been reading on these threads that a revival is coming next year. Who knows.

Check Ebay..they are always listing it for sale.
I enjoyed this show as well. I saw it with Robert Klein and Lucie Arnaz back in 1979.
Neil Simon and Marvin Hamlisch originally were meeting to work on a musical version of Simon's play "The Gingerbread Lady" but that was not working out so they ended their collaboration on that show.
During their meetings, Hamlisch would often comment on his then relationship with Carole Bayer Sager and sometime later on Simon showed up with the script to "They're playing our song".
So much fun to do...and such a great show for low altos like me!
I LOVE this show!! I have been listening to the recording non stop. I finally got the music to "I Still Believe In love" from my voice teacher after searching for it forever!!! Most of the songs are in various song books.
And one of my favorite pieces of worthless trivia:
During the production of the OCR for THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG someone else was brought in to sing the last few notes of "When You're In My Arms" in place of Lucie Arnaz. Can you name who it was?
i know it's wrong but, i will say liza for fun just because I am watching her in Arthur right now.
Did anyone see it with Stockard Channing and Tom Courtenoy (sp?).
Since neither are known as singers, I was wondering how they did.
I would love to see this show brought back! I could see Susan Egan playing Sonia.

I saw it with Stockard Channing, and she was wonderful. Tom Courtney never played the part. Tom Conti played it in London, and there is a cast recording of him.
I've always loved the song Falling. It's so 70s cheesy, but I love it.
Stockard Channing played opposite Tony Roberts.

Yes.
It was Robert Klein & Lucie Arnaz
Tony Roberts & Lucie Arnaz
Tony Roberts & Stockard Channing
Tony Roberts & Rhonda Farer
Tony Roberts & Anita Gillette
Ted Was & Diana Canova
Victor Garbor & Marsha Skaggs (now Marsha Waterbury)
This is great--- thought people forgot all about this show, which I loved! "If he really knew me" was 'my' song.
BB Star: I used to have the songbook. I'll ask my brother to check some boxes I have stored at our old house. If he finds it, I'll PM you. Wish I had the chance to see Lucie Arnaz in it; I listened to her/the OBCR endlessly.
I saw the touring cast in San Francisco, in 1980. Just found the program as I was searching for the song book. The tour starred Victor Garber and Marsha Skaggs. Gads, the only time I realize I'm aging is when I see my friends' kids and when I find old programs like this....
