One intesting note is the number of people who stated qualifying "classic" scores from "modern" scores. Is this artificial distinction a way of justifying what is passing for musicals these days? LOL

For those of you may be wondering, my choice was a tough one between MY FAIR LADY and SHOWBOAT. Of the two, I had to go with SHOWBOAT as the best score although MY FAIR LADY may be my favorite of the two.

Ragtime should win solely on the fact that is SCREAMS Broadway and it is written by an american team and is absolutely wonderful.

I consider it a travesty that there is only one Bernstein show on that list. But, alas Candide has never found its audience.

Mine is definatly Hairspray. I picked that because it is the only show I never tire of listening to.
