Don't know how I feel about some Disney musicals, but 'Hocus Pocus' would be a blast. How much fun would it be to play one of the Sanderson sisters!
I know, Sarah Sanderson would be such a fun role to play
I would LOVE IT! It could happen, I mean there's musicals and shows that take place at certain points in the year that aren't always performed at that point.
My thing....
WHAT would people sing about?

I don't know about the other song, but "I Put A Spell On You" might disappear from the stage production. Because it is an old pop song, not written for the movie. So if Disney wouldn't get the rights to use the song again...
But the story is a fun one, so it might transfer well to the stage!

I think Wicked already has the whole witch thing on lock. We don't really need two musicals about singing witches - but who knows. And the flying wouldn't be that hard. they did the Witches of Eastwick in London and had the witches flying all over the audience - so I hear, but that musical didn't do to well. Maybe people aren't into the whole Witch idea?

Dancing Skeletons in "In My Life" - $26.25
A Gay and a Lesbian in bed in a strict cultural setting - $25.00
A flying vacuum - $100.
Some things in life deserve to be made into Disney Musicals at high prices. For everything else, there's student rush.

god save the person who started this thread. Hocus Pocus is an incredible movie...and the end STILL makes me tear up a bit. just a bit.
AMAZING movie. I watch it EVERY Halloween.
I KNEW I missed Kathy in SOME movie I had seen. I was so focused on finding out who Mary Roberts was in Sister Act, I had forgotten all about Mary Patrick! (Najimy)
I think this idea is really great! I love that movie! Bette Midler sings that song great
I think it could work... It's such a fun movie and Bette would be wonderful. However, I'm sure that's a shot in the dark having Bette back on Broadway... But one can wish..

omg i havent seen this movie in years! i love it, though.
"Hi Everyone! My name's Winifred. What's yours?!?!"
That gets me every time...
It's on The Disney Channel right now.
Does anyone remember the hassle's they had over the way the movie went, the orignal script called for a darker movie, which is what the 3 stars signed on for.
But "Disney" wanted a more family freindly movie, hence the kids became more of the focus of the film...Bette years later in a interview said, she always wished the film was shoot as written, as it was darker, funnier and with 2 more songs..
I LOVED this movie as a kid!
I think it would be a great musical, but I don't know how they'd handle the whole "I'm a cat" thing

I was just watching it and it NEEDS to be made!!!!
Oh I'd love if they made it a musical! It's one of my all time favorite movies.
Okay, I've had a dream cast for the show for years:
Winnifred: Carolee Carmello
Mary: Emily Skinner
Sarah: Jennifer Laura Thompson
That cast would blow the ROOF off.
Hah. I wondered how that thread had so many replies so quickly.
See, this was started almost. two. years. ago. I think the topic could use revisiting. The world's changed a lot since then. New opinions are out there.
Exactly. New opinions are out there. New opinions that should be added to older threads.
