Apparently people started lining up at 10:30 last night!!
I got one of the last tickets around 5pm. (Front mezz, if you're wondering)
While I can see why so many people are saying that the show needs some retooling, it was a great performance. The (mostly very young) audience was very energetic and the performers fed off it.
I hadn't seen the show in awhile... glad I got to go!

They sold you seats at 5 PM? I got there around noon, and they only had standing room. Interesting...
The show was a blast - total high energy, like you said - although some cast members need to be fired.

Please tell us who you think should be fired. Was Antonique on as Mimi? She's exceptional.

I think my ticket would be considered partial view. I was almost directly behind the boxes. I missed all of the Life Support scenes.
The box office guy at first said there was nothing, but then the other guy standing there said wait, check something... and then I got a ticket. I was surprised.

I don't have my Playbill in front of me, so I might butcher some names.
Who should stay with the show:
Generally the entire ensemble, maybe with the exception of who ever played Mrs. Jefferson, soloist, homeless woman, etc. Her SEASONS OF LOVE solo was great, but her acting in everything else was basically not there.
Antonique Smith: Perfect. Brilliant. I have never seen Mimi portrayed with so much raw emotion. This girl WANTS it, and you can tell. Consistantly excellent - she's a keeper.
D'Monroe: Wonderful - the best Benny in years.
Border-line:
Justin Johnson: He seems to be suffering the fate of all previous Angels, mostly Andy Senor and Jai Rodriguez. A couple years ago when he was just the understudy, it was a treat to see Justin as Angel - and he's still good - but his voice is getting quieter and quieter each time I see him. He also adds more and more "quirks" to Angel that take away from the actual character.
HAS TO GO NOW:
Matt Caplan: He's just tired. Phoning it in. I cannot stand his performance, and couldn't stand him from the first time I saw him. Amateur on every level - although, to his credit, his singing voice is always perfect.
Tim Howar: Fine acting, decent execution, but his singing is getting tougher and tougher. He will not have a voice in a few weeks, if not days - he doesn't have much of one to begin with anyway.
I left off a bunch of people, but I'm tired and didn't really feel like going here to begin with. I'll post something in my blog this week if you want something more substantial.

Posted: 4/26/06 at 5:09pmTim is by far not the best Roger, but he's not the worse either. I happen to be growing on him. Just to comment on his vocals, they were really quite strained in the beginning but now, his voice seems to have adjusted just fine to the role. If you don't like him recently, you would have depised him a couple of months ago. His voice has softened completely since Feb.
