An aggregation and analysis: Top 10 Lists of Top 10 NYC Theater in 2025: Liberation is number 1

"Liberation” is by far the most critically acclaimed theater of 2025, featured in nine of the ten Top 10 lists below. Bess Wohl’s play about a woman’s liberation group in the 1970s is followed by “John Proctor Is the Villain,” “Purpose,” “Ragtime,” and “Vanya,” each of which were listed by five of the critics."

There is no competition for worst -- Queen of Verssailles.

But it's interesting that that same musical currently leads in the third question, which one did you most want to like?

Theater on Screen 2025: From Merrily to Wicked, Hamnet to Blue Moon.

Over the weekend, “Merrily We Roll Along” and “Hamnet” opened in cinemas nationwide, each connected to live theater in very different ways – one, a recording of a live Broadway production, the other a movie about Shakespeare. Both are the latest in a banner year for theater on screen.

I suspect the NYC mayor questions were easy for you, yankeefan, because you're a Yankee fan.

This is apparently an easy one, The median score is 92, much higher than usual. The easiest question seems to be about Tom Stoppard; the hardest about NYC mayors on Broadway.
