Frozen Tour
 Jul 13 2024, 05:40:26 PM

Saw the tour this week in Vancouver, and wanted to share some thoughts.

Obviously Frozen is not high art, and I understand that… but honestly, this may be one of the best shows to come through town. And I mean that from a wow factor perspective. We get a lot of non-equity or downscaled tours, so to get a show of this scale is actually pretty exciting - especially after the Mean Girls tour we recently had, oof.

Probably one of the most im

This is really the kind of content I’ve signed up for. Let’s go Wicked alum domination!

The Green Girls are making good.

Three women who have starred on Broadway as Elphaba in “Wicked” picked up Tony nominations on Tuesday.

Shoshana Bean, who inhabited the role for a year starting in 2005, was nominated as best featured actress for “Hell’s Kitchen,” in which she plays a tough-minded single mother trying to protect her adolescent daughter from the tempt

Does anyone know if Beetlejuice is continuing post Mexico? Or is the tour being scheduled for this coming season going to be a reopened non-equity? I sincerely hope it’s staying equity.

Joe Locke currently stars in the popular Netflix teen series HEARTSTOPPER, which is why he’s buzzing and why the teens are screaming whenever he walks on stage and exits.

"

I know that now after a google search but still no interest in watching this. Anway, we'll see the show again in a couple of weeks and see him. Kids!

Heartstopper is one of the most sweet, beautiful little shows. I’m 32 and probably cried for about 1 week after watching the first season.

They’ve announced Lion King (no dates yet, but generally the big show is in the summer), rest of shows will be announced in March.

Are they shortsighted or what? They already had an inferior tour not that long ago. Give us something as good as the original, or don’t bother.

Which seems to be a new tradition of announcing one big name show in advance of the full season announcement, Broadway Across Canada has announced Lion King will be part of the 24/25 season in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa.

Certainly not trying to be. I genuinely wish him a speedy recovery. He’s a talented person, and sounds amazing in the role.

According to a Twitter reply to a fan from his Twitter account, Jordan has the flu.

certainly unfortunate timing, as of course no one wants to get sick, and add the extra layer of you just started in a show, and are already facing the attendance narrative. I am sure he is stressed.

The Lion King to open a new sit down production in Toronto!

That’s my feeling also. But would be nice to be surprised.

Begs the question,

What was the original Toronto production like in terms of staging? True to broadway? And will this new sit down be reusing a tour set, or using the broadway set with raking stage / trap doors?

Caught the tour in Vancouver, first time seeing the show, and was so excited to finally see it.

Holy cow, this show is incredible. But I am here to speak about the current tour cast, which just had a cast change recently.

Amaya Braganza is a stunning Eurydice, beautiful vocals and choices.

J. Antonio Rodriguez is so lovable as Orpheus. His vocals are gorgeous, and he vibrates with nervous, quirky, palpable energy.
