I’d really to love to know what they’ve done to make the backstage / theatre more accessible for her.

Donald Trump Takes Over the Kennedy Center
 Feb 14 2025, 03:16:27 PM

Breaks my heart seeing a long running, relatively well regarded art institution, crumbling before our eyes. All because of one ridiculous, petty, small, vindictive, horrible man.

Kennedy Center Honors will have no meaning now. The institutions reputation now damaged, potentially beyond repair. A sad day.

Hello. America’s former friend and ally here, a Canadian.

Just checking in on the dumpster fire. I can’t really use the words I’d like, to describe how I feel about the last two weeks.

My only thought with this is… if America is so broken, and needs so much work to fix whatever perceived issues the orange one seems to believe exist, how does he have the time to take on such a frivolous position, for a President?

I don't expect it to adhere to real world logic when it comes to the fantasy elements of the movie - e.g., applying real world logic, Elphaba's second spell should have cause

Grande isn't funny, Erivo isn't interesting, and they both look blank 90% of the time.

What are people crying about? How is this movie touching people??

It isn't a trainwreck or anything, but it's hardly Oscar worthy.

And they barely changed

I have to agree with you here. I thought the lead performances were incredibly tame compared to how sparkling and alive the roles are played on Broadway. Andbefore anyonewants to fight me on this and say it’s a movie, it is still a Broadway musical, and I wish it had more of that Broadway quality in its leads

In good news, Wicked has an A cinema score. This should have good legs.

Doesn't justify its endless running length, which adds little to the plot except long dance breaks, overly pregnant "this moment is important" pauses, and boring shots likeone where we have to watch Glinda and Elphaba walk the ENTIRE hall to the Wizard. Ariana sounds genuinely awful tryin

I’m going to come out and say this, and draw the line in the sand now.

anyone who says they killed the momentum in defying gravity, or messed it up, is objectively wrong. WRONG.

They nailed it, they did it brilliantly. It was so thrilling, so moving, they gave it room to breathe, and space for Cynthia to really show growth, character, and vulnerability.

I don’t make the rules, but in this case… there is a wrong opinion

And Ariana Grande is really really the real standout. But i havent seen enough praise for NOMTW, her acting when she sees Elphaba statue and the lights the torch was magnificent.

Ozdust was so beautifully done, I cried.

The entire Dancing Through Life sequence was just incredible.

“Universal’s female Jurassic World movie, if you will, the feature take of the Broadway musical Wickedis expected to pull in any every single woman to the tune of a $125 million-$150 million domestic opening this weekend. Add in an extra $40M-$50M from its overseas launch.

By every single woman we mean in the U.S., where pre-sales are through the roof; we’re hearing that they’re around $30M+. The movie is already holding previews, last night and Wednesday in premium theaters via an Amazon promotion, with regularly scheduled early screenings starting Thursday at 2 p.m. Last night’s preview was strong enough business-wise to land Wicked a 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Glicked is about to take effect at the box office. If anything, with Moana 2 coming on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, the holiday stretch from this Friday through the Sunday after Black Friday is expected to be the highest-grossing ever at the domestic box office for all films.

There’s a little bit of a Barbie moment going on with Wicked in terms of pre-sales,” one industry insider commented this morning. “They just keep going up and up with tracking numbers through the roof.” Quorum reports that Wicked ranks as the firm’s most highest-tracked title in its post-Covid run with 70% total awareness.“

I've seen Wicked on tour probably 8 or 9 times in the last 20 years and have played the soundtrack to death so I am very familiar with the show. The great thing about the movie is that they literally have cut next to nothing in terms of music and dialouge beats. All your favorite lines are here. All of the music you love is here. The actors GET this material. I think anyone
