the view from the front/mid mezz is great... especially if you're in the center.

There are plenty thread like this if you run a search, however, the potentially questionable material that comes up is...

~language (?, it's not particularly terrible. there is a song titled "totally f*cked")
~simulated masturabation, there's a scene devoted to it, and argueably some of the choreography in other numbers
~the haylot sex scene that closes the first act (depending where you are sitting you'll get some tits and ass)
~mentions of child abuse/molestation

re: is SA a concept show?  Jun 13 2007, 11:04:40 PM
As an avid poster on the "Down With Spring Awakening" thread with your jadded costar that got cut from SA Auditions in Boston, it amazes me that you're attempting to have somewhat rational, dare I say "intelligent" conversation about the show.

There is nothing particularly "taboo" about it. Much of the musical can be attributed to the source material, Wedekind's play.

A artistic or literary work can have a "framing device" without being a "concept show".

A CHORUS LINE (Missed it while fighting over the television)

CURTAINS B+ (The number isn't so amazing televised...)

110 IN THE SHADE A+ (I officially need to go see it!)

MARY POPPINS A (It was enjoyable and I can see from just a glimpse why it won best scenic design... and why people have been arguing for choreography)

COMPANY A (Raul as Bobby is really something.)

GREY GARDENS B+ (Taken out of context, it went over my head.)

SPRING AWAKENI

re: Your Personal Tony Disappointments  Jun 11 2007, 12:46:20 AM
Best Actor was bittersweet for me as I really wanted both Mr. Groff and Mr. Pierce to win. It was definitely deserving but I just wanted Groff to walk away with his own little personal prize.

Best Choreography. As much as I love Spring Awakening, I was just like...what?!? It was seriously an award that I assumed would be given to another musical. I've yet to see Poppins, so I can't actually fully comment on it. I was supporting Curtains on that one. Although the choreography for S

re: Why are we such puritans?  Jun 11 2007, 12:29:54 AM
Amen. LMAO.

I was frustrated with the total change of lyrics for "The Bitch of Living"; censoring "Totally F*cked" was understandable to some extent.

However, the Tony's did some up with the rating of PG, highlighting L for Language...

The medley was a little abrupt—Spring Awakening on speed, if you will. Effective to captivate new audience members, perhaps? I just found it rather amusing, but the cast looked like they were having a great time and I was still ama

re: Food in the Theatre  May 28 2007, 06:02:43 PM
I usually get away with a bottle of water and ocassionally some candy or like a baggie of almonds... but I only have it like before the show or during intermission. I refuse to pay $3 for a bag of M&Ms I can get for 75 cents or whatever the heck they are charging for a bottle of water.

Yea, there are usually signs that say that the food should be consumed by the bar or wherever it's sold, but at some venues it's right in the back of the theater... and I can't really see nor have I seen
