I have seen it twice in public screenings in NYC. My screening yesterday in Times Square was definitely a bit more cheer-heavy (moderate applauses after the bigger numbers and moments) but that’s as far as it went. No singing at all.

I was floored. Sans the obvious caveat that this a project myself (like many of you) have waited years for and have a strong emotional attachment to already, it was everything I could’ve wanted it to be. I know there was speculation about the 2-part split but I would not want it any other way. It was so easy to get lost in the rollercoaster of the story. I will be going back in a few days for a more analytical take, but as far as I’m concerned …

I wish the score had a bit more of a consistently unique sound to it. That was the same issue I had with Mean Girls.
During Curtain Call, we get this crazy discoteque instrumental beat that sounds SO distinct and fun. As soon as it started playing I wished it was what the entire score sounded like.
The basic contemporary musical theatre-sounding song lineup in the show is definitely a fun listen, but … there isn’t really much of anything else to say about it? Fun th

During today’s 11/13 matinee, the mansion set clipped the show curtain and tore a hole in it. This happened during the scenic change out of "Don't Say I Didn't (Warn You)" when the mansion visibly lowers into place. A small piece of white plastering was broken and fell to the stage deck. There was a ten-minute hold and they continued the show as normal afterward, visible rips and all.

I cannot see a world in which grosses turn around, but this must be a massive encouragement to producers and investors everywhere who consider capitalizing shows not on the basis of financial viability but, simply put, to give poignant and original art a mainstream platform.
These reviews are a massive win for the industry. Makes me so happy to see!
