Non-equity doesn't equal bad. In just usually means much lower budget.

I work on the show. BD was just fine today and both performances went up. It was an interesting experience. Never had to stop mid-show before.

Name those theatrical unions May 21

For my Technical Production I class, I need to come to class with a sheet of any theatrical or theatrically-related union. Other than the obvious ones, name 'em off! I appreciate your help.

Backstage has "blocking" just like what is going onstage. Actors running from SR - SL or to the quick change area, automated scenery (or just good ole man-powered scenery), etc. Backstage is a well-oiled machine. If someone is where they aren't supposed to be at a certain time, you could be seriously injured.

re: 'Grease' Car Makes a Pit Stop - nytimes.com Feb 27

We are currently using a real 1990 Camry in our production The Full Monty (the designer swayed away from the cartoonish look that productions usually use). I always think about what would happen if it did keep on rolling downstage into the pit. It rolls from its upstage position downstage staight torwards the pit. A very strong rope keeps it from going too far.
