Wow...because that's a polite and/or relevant thing to say.

Ummm, what was great about it? I'm not commenting on her performance. She sounded fine. But the arangement was terrible, and good lord, for the Grammys the sound sucked. An Echo? Really?
Seriously, I hope they give her a better arrangement at the Oscars cause, that was weak.
And what the **** was with the "put on a few pounds?" Seriously? that was cold.

I believe your words were that she "sounded great but put on a few pounds"...which gives the statement a distinctly negative tone. It's like you're saying that she sounded great in spite of being a chunker. Seriously, think before you type.

Her weight is still irrelevant, no matter the context of your comment. Frankly, i think she looks amazing. Your post should have ended with the word "great" because, that was where you stopped being relevant.
I'm not even that big a Beyonce fan but I feel compelled to mention that she lost 20 pounds off her normal frame to play Deena because that's what the role called for. As soon as the movie was filmed, she began to regain the weight purposely, because she prefers her body at that weight. And she's been nothing but honest about that. I think we should commend her efforts to promote healthy body image.
Oh boy...you've successfully made me laugh out loud, which I rarely do online. It's actually really funny now. But please keep it. The ensuing conversation says it all.

I would imagine if you understood Morse Code, a tap dancer would drive you crazy
That song was on the album, and she did release it as a single before the movie came out. Plus, its her big number from one of the biggest hit movies of the year. It seemed like a logical choice for her to sing to me.
Deena, I wasn't crazy about the performance, to be honest. I remember really being floored the first time I heard her sing it (on Oprah). She was good, but I wasn't overwhelmed at all. She looked beautiful, though (when doesn't she?)
So its obvious that she is going throug something..the song was lowered and she just wasn't in it. They interviewed her on " Ellen" and she said that it was hard for her to get through the song until she saw Ellen singing along in the front. I also noticed that she was there by herself..I think that she could be depressed from not recieving praise from a performance in a movie that she really worked hard for. She sang the hell out of that song on Oprah but this performance was alright...the fact of the matter is. She is BEYONCE and I have never heard her sounding bad so I have much respect for her..she just wasn't in it for once in a almost 10 year career.
its funny that you interepreted the "and put on a few pounds" as a negative haha i found it positive. she fasted to be that thin and look a lil more like diana ross for dreamgirls...finally she looks normal again and great!
