NBC's The New Normal - Thoughts?
 Aug 29 2012, 10:07:10 PM
The pilot was officially released online today, I thought it was hilarious and written in a very smart way. Ellen Barkin killed it! Andrew Rannells was also very funny, he brought back my memories of The Book of Mormon!

Anyone else get a chance to see it?

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES to Close on Broadway May 1; Tour to Launch in October

Very very sad. This was my first show that I saw in New York in an actual Broadway theatre. I saw it will Douglas Hodge and Kelsey Grammer and they blew everyone away, especially Hodge.

Well on the bright side, at least it did much better than the 2005 revival.

Wow ok. Maybe I shouldn't have started this thread. Just thought that someone in the world would have something positive to say.

Just forget everything I said.

Yeah but the point of the whole thread is to generate at least SOME positivity about the show, not crush it even more like Taryn did.

At least some people could appreciate the show a little more for what its trying to do (hence the name "Appreciation Thread").

fingerlakessinger may have a point but I dont think Spiderman devastatingly horrificly fails at all of these things. True it could make some improvements but its not the worst show in the world, others have been way worse (such as the almost non existent Breakfast At Triffany's and Merrily We Roll Along).

And the point isnt that Julie destroys everything, she tries to tranform it into something that forces the audience to change its perspective.

And for the record I love Wicked

I have never sent any Broadway star a letter but I am very curious about getting something back from someone.

So because I'm uninformed in this area, what do I do if I send a letter to someone and hope to get something back? Do I include a SASE?

Is it annoying to actually state "please send me a signed playbill" or should I just not say anything and just wait for something in return?

Though the new Broadway musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, has been plagued by negativity, drama, and problems, I believe it is just the kind of show that Broadway needs right now. The musical is a very good attempt at recreating the modern musical theatre and Julie Taymor should be receiving much more recognition and praise then she is currently getting.

First of all, Julie is a genius, there's no use arguing that, as seen from the world wide success of the Lion King. She is attem
