I am really frustrated and I thought ...hey, what the hell ...let me try this ..maybe someone will read it :)
I am a Singer and Actor from a small country in the Balkans - Slovenia.
As a child growing up in socialist Yugoslavia, I was always in love with songs from musical theatre, jazz standards.r&b, but those recordings were hard to come by and never performed. But I had and still have a dream, to have a full career performing this type of music. In my country this is impossible. I think the English expression is "trying to push a boulder up a mountain with your nose"
There are no real professional producers, managers, agents nor musical theaters in this country . Recording companies don't guide or support their performers, you must be all things to yourself to try and create your own career. Added to that, in Slovenia, many types of music the rest of the world knows is largely unknown and professional musical theater is non existent. Even the availability of sheet music or arrangements is a nightmare.
I am doing everything I can to get out of here contacting agencies all over Europe and would relocate in a heartbeat.. i have even tried to audition for these reality singing programs in western Europe but cannot because the rules say you must be a resident of the country. with the recording industry in disarray, being afraid to take a chance with new talent, i know i have chosen a tough road.. but i feel that with the right break i have something to contribute to the world of music and theater
can anyone here give me some ideas what to do, maybe somebody has some real contacts
I am fluent in English , French, Croatian, and almost fluent in German
