I agree with the Pirate Queen comments. I was visiting Chicago and saw PQ on 11/11. I enjoyed it more than I expected. I thought of it as "Les Miz meets 7 Brides for 7 Brothers."
The riverdance stuff was not overdone and fit the show. What's missing is a knock your socks off number. A lot of the solos wind up and then kind of fizzle out. Even the finale ends on a bit of a let down, musically.
The show was sold out and the audience seemed to like it. No Lestat here.

Not Ball, please! Marius might be suited for a sweet syrupy voice, Valjean is not.
Since Lestat will probably be closed by then, my vote goes to Hugh Panaro.
