This is a serious sign, I should never go to previews or hang out with broadway stars ever again before their shows start. First Little Women, and now Chuck Cooper and Lennon.

re: Songs to Work on With My Voice Teacher

Simple from Nine
Painting Her Portrait from Jane Eyre
Forgiveness from Jane Eyre
Your Daddy's Son from Ragtime
Who are you Now? from Funny Girl
On My Own from Les Miserables
I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miz

If you are a mezzo, and Im guessing you are if you can sing "I could have danced all night" but dont fancy high singing, you should get your voice teacher to order you a musical theater anthology for Mezzos, or Altos, or sops if you like.

re: Leading Actress in a Musical?

I love Sutton and Idina and Marissa, and they are all very talented. I love Piazza, but Victoria's voice really does nothing for me. I think the reason people are so captivated by ppl like Sutton and Idina is b/c they are fun to listen to. (now I realize that not everyone will agree with me), but Victoria's voice does nothing for me. She probably won the Tony for her superb acting ability.

And it does matter how old Bernadette gets, Ill always love her.

re: How do you deal...
 Aug 10 2005, 12:55:03 AM
I also have never had a kissing scene, but I have had to flirt onstage, with many guys I was nothing but platonic with. I would suggest getting so into character that it seems natural, and if worse comes to worse, take a shot of whiskey before the show (if you are over 21 of course, and brush your teeth) Mark Kudisch does that and it loosens him up. Lets just hope you can hold your alcohol.

But if you arent old enough to drink, then just pretend they are your fav actor or actress and j
