If you saw it earlier in previews it might not be in it. I think it was put back in after feedback that it was an important part of the story of how they developed their relationship in the beginning.

There are people out there who haven't even seen the show who feel free to comment and tear a show down without giving it a fair chance. They worked really hard the past few weeks to make changes based on feedback and the least people could do is give a fair chance and see it with an open mind before commenting.
There are far worse shows on Broadway right now that don't receive this level of unwarranted hate from people who have not even seen the show.

To echo what someone said earlier - this show has been drastically changed and is actually good now. I went to see the show over the weekend - fairly full in the orchestra and no one left at intermission and there was a standing ovation at the end.
Katie Brayben is stunning as Tammy Faye. In regards to her makeup in the trailer - at the end of the musical is when you see the version of Tammy Faye everyone knows with all the eye makeup. That's why you don't see it as
