LOL, some funny replies here!
Because of my Streisand fan-site, Columbia sent me an advance copy of THE MOVIE ALBUM last week. I think it's her best album since THE CONCERT, and maybe since THE BROADWAY ALBUM.
Her voice is in great shape and sounds better than ever.
"Calling You" is my favorite track - kind of a different song for Barbra. But she sounds great, and it's a synthesized arrangement.
I've also seen the 2-song DVD (which is available NOW if you pre-order at Amazon. You can watch it on Window Media Player).
Anyway, this is exciting stuff for Streisand fans.

Yeah, I don't really indulge in personal rumors like that, Dollypop. I like the way she sings, ya know? It's none of my business whether she attended funerals or not.

Am I crazy, or didn't I see BROADWAY ON BROADWAY on TV last year? It was the first time I saw the big HAIR dance number. I caught it on TV in the middle of the afternoon, one weekend I think.
So, did they tape this year? Will it be broadcast? I know it's not the same as BEING THERE, but it would be cool to see.

Her apartment over the fish store was on Third Avenue. It's the same apartment that Mike Wallace & Barbra visited on that 60 Minutes interview ... with the window that looks out to a brick wall.

Wow, that's a great story about the Sullivan show, voiceanth.
I love hearing stories about how her voice won a new fan.
I, too, love the early stuff best. Those early years in NYC and the early appearances on PM EAST and SULLIVAN ... ahhh.

Barbra fans will be happy ... she'll be doing LOTS of promotion for THE MOVIE ALBUM, including (it's rumored) some live singing on some of the talk shows.
