the Andrea McArdle interview: will there be a dust-up? a catfight? Nov 19

Hannah I agree with everything you wrote. To me there was a definite angle in the documentary. These girls hit an incredible high at very young ages and many seem to spend the subsequent years trying to recapture that high, most of them unable to do so (Sarah Jessica Parker, Allison Smith, and McArdle being the obvious exceptions). Julie Stevens herself said just this in an interview with 20/20, though I did paraphrase. Also, the trailer to the film VERY MUCH plays up the "former child actress f

Julie, are you going to take legal action against Andrea McArdle? The problem is that her comments could be a result of her merely being confused about your movie and it's intentions - who knows if she even watched it - and she misspoke, even if calling subsequent Annie's and Orphan's after her "wannabees" was cruel. So there are different ways to interpret that interview, though I understand why you would interpret it the way you did. In the interview she never directly mentioned any one person

Hi Nemo! I am in no way connected to the producers of the film "Life After Tomorrow" about the girls who starred in Annie nor am I related to/partners with any of the girls (now grown-up women) who might be angry or upset about what Andrea McArdle said in the interview. I just heard about the interview, watched it, and saw some of the posts on the annieorphans website where people were encouraging Julie Stevens to take legal action against Andrea McArdle for her comments. They were saying "Sue h

TracyLord, it is scandalous! And I wonder if there will be some kind of dust-up over the things Andrea said in the interview! Those women conversing on the site are encouraging Julie Stevens the director of the film to sue Andrea for slander about what she said in the interview, and Julie made some cryptic comment about not wanting to discuss it with Andrea, and pursuing it in "a different way". Based on a previous thread someone posted, she claimed to have been "friends with" McArdle.

I don't think Sarrica Jessirah Parker has made any statements about it, so who knows if she's mad at Andrea.

well, there's a website called annieorphans.com where people on the message board have been talking about how they don't like Andrea anymore now that she said this. I guess they think she was trying to demean the documentary (which she refused to participate in) and by doing so she managed to say bad things about the producers of the movie and claim that the girls in the video weren't on broadway, they were just on bus & truck tours and were "wannabees" - which is wrong because some of the girls

no nemo I am not. I wasn't aware that this was brought up here before. what ethically dubious ways? Andrea said the girls on the national tours were never on broadway and "will never be on broadway" in what is being perceived by some as a rather nasty tone. I think she called them "wannabes", and she mistakenly (I hope it was mistakenly and not intentionally - because if intentional it would be rather awful) said the girls in the film were not on broadway when in fact several, including

which movie? the tv-movie from the 90's that she had a cameo in? I don't think she's ever said anything bad about that movie. I'm not sure what she has ever said about the 80's feature film with aileen quinn.

apparently in her interview with Paul Wontorek on Broadway.com's Show People, she said some not-very-nice things about the girls who appeared in the documentary Life After Tomorrow, which featured many girls who appeared as Annie and as Orphans on Broadway and on National Tours. She also said some not-very-nice things about the producers of the movie. I wonder if Andrea has gotten herself into some hot water with this one. Has anyone else heard about this? Is there some kind of dust-
