apparently in her interview with Paul Wontorek on Broadway.com's Show People, she said some not-very-nice things about the girls who appeared in the documentary Life After Tomorrow, which featured many girls who appeared as Annie and as Orphans on Broadway and on National Tours. She also said some not-very-nice things about the producers of the movie. I wonder if Andrea has gotten herself into some hot water with this one.
Has anyone else heard about this? Is there some kind of dust-up because apparently many people are upset with McArdle....

She's been saying "not-very-nice things" about the movie since it came out 5 or 6 years ago.
Not so sure how upset I could be with her 30+ years after the fact. Don't know what she said about the documentary since there is no link, but I assume it might have something to do with moving on? I have a feeling their experience with the show was considerably different than hers.

which movie? the tv-movie from the 90's that she had a cameo in? I don't think she's ever said anything bad about that movie. I'm not sure what she has ever said about the 80's feature film with aileen quinn.

Hey Smashmouth-Joined-Today, you're not the crazy documentary maker who pops up here regularly to defend the awful product and the shall-we-say ethically dubious nature in which some of the actors were brought on board, are you?

no nemo I am not. I wasn't aware that this was brought up here before. what ethically dubious ways?
Andrea said the girls on the national tours were never on broadway and "will never be on broadway" in what is being perceived by some as a rather nasty tone. I think she called them "wannabes", and she mistakenly (I hope it was mistakenly and not intentionally - because if intentional it would be rather awful) said the girls in the film were not on broadway when in fact several, including Sarah Jessica Parker, were one Broadway.
Good lord. Has the skill of linking fallen by the wayside?

Apparently you like to say apparently a lot. So, who's mad at her? If you're gonna start a thread like this, why not just name names?
I do agree that Sarah Jessica Parker is one Broadway, though. Apparently.

Apparently is the new allegedly. Allegedly.
Apparently Sarrica Jessirah Parker is really mad at Annie, who, to be fair, does have one more Broadway credit than Sarrica.
But everybody remembers the director apparegedly tricked Sarrica into doing the docu by telling her Andrea was doing it.
It's a hard knock life.

well, there's a website called annieorphans.com where people on the message board have been talking about how they don't like Andrea anymore now that she said this. I guess they think she was trying to demean the documentary (which she refused to participate in) and by doing so she managed to say bad things about the producers of the movie and claim that the girls in the video weren't on broadway, they were just on bus & truck tours and were "wannabees" - which is wrong because some of the girls interviewed in the film were indeed on broadway, two were Andrea's successors to the role (SJP and Allison Smith) and a couple others were in subsequent broadway casts of the show after Andrea left.
She talks about it in the interview somewhere around 8 mins in. Apparently.

I don't think Sarrica Jessirah Parker has made any statements about it, so who knows if she's mad at Andrea.

I think it's AMAZING that Apparently is the new Allegedly.
I watched a little of the video that should have been linked but wasn't. 1) Andrea McArdle looks a lot like my step-mother, and I'm not sure which one should take offense at that. 2) I forgot she played Annie again on that Rosie cruise. I thought she was a good sport about that. That must have been a lot of fun. 3) That part came right before the part where she talked about the movie if she want to see her talk about reprising Annie on the Rosie cruise. 4) And I still maintain Sarah Jessica really is one Broadway. Apparently some people were saying she was two, but she's really just one.

the director claims she did not trick anyone into being interviewed

Thanks for the link! I have a feeling that for a little while I'm going to really enjoy reading through that message board, until the overwhelming sadness of it all overtakes me.

A fine example of irony -
The mention of "sour grapes" in the first post.

Remember how she lied about working with Catherine Zeta Jones?

Phyllis, why is "sour grapes" ironic?

Hush, now, I'm rereading those old threads and going down memory lane! If you make a movie about those threads, I will decline to be interviewed.

I had to know what the CZJ business was about. That site is just too much.

TracyLord, it is scandalous! And I wonder if there will be some kind of dust-up over the things Andrea said in the interview! Those women conversing on the site are encouraging Julie Stevens the director of the film to sue Andrea for slander about what she said in the interview, and Julie made some cryptic comment about not wanting to discuss it with Andrea, and pursuing it in "a different way".
Based on a previous thread someone posted, she claimed to have been "friends with" McArdle. I can't imagine they were ever very close if something like this went down.

Yes, you've been through that. Now, let's try a different tactic. In what way are you connected to the movie, and I mean, in WHAT way including being or being related to or partners with one of the women who once had a part in Annie and is angry?
i saw Andrea on a Rosie Cruise. No ANNIE there. Not even "Tomorrow". SJP is a classy lady. Mom said if you can't say something nice...."Maybe...."
