love the orchestration, Tunick is a master. That bassoon writing and playing is so top notch.

Could someone please share what the band size is and instrument used in the show? Thank you.

Saw the show and thought the orchestra and sonic design seemed thin. The band is even smaller than Lempicka. Wish there was an oboe, a bassoon, or a trombone to create a more complex music underscore, based on what I have heard. 

Light in the Piazza (Ruthie Ann Miles). The production was breath taking, greating singing, and the orchestra was so great. 

Would appreciate if someone can share about the orchestration. Thank you.

I have probably watch/listen to the exit music 100 times since it’s available. The orchestra sounds so good and so rare to see the first video of a cast album features the band. Wish I could play bassoon like that.

Regina Spektor’s “begin to hope”

It’s very lovely seeing a simple instrumentation of a musical. Tunick is a master and his sonic mapping of orchestration is masterful.

It has been 20 years since the last revival of Nine, maybe it’s time for it to come back? Tunick’s orchestration is so lush and adds so much color to the wonderful Yeston score.

A little night music, putting it together, pacific overture (original orchestration) or here we are!

Light in the piazza with Ruthie Ann Miles deserves to get a Broadway transfer…

The music is great but not the orchestra, I am sorry to say….I went in knowing it’s a more jazzy genre, and different from his Light in the Piazza, but after seeing the NYCC production of his LITP, it was the best musical experience in 2023 for me. I truly hope Guettel will consider making a LITP revival, maybe with Kelli as Margaret for a limited run and also have Ruthie Ann Miles do a limited run for the same role as well.
