I have a copy of the demo tape. It’s just Schmidt and Jones and Liz and Scott Waara. It is a terrific, if very gentle show. There’s a terric recording of Rita Gardner singing “Time Goes By” on YouTube that will give you a taste of the show.
It’s a shame that it’s not available for stock and amateur productions.
I also have a demo of the Kander and Ebb show, which at the time was called “Over and Over”

Has this cut song from "Chicago" ever been published? Either as a single song when the original production was still in previews or in a Kander and Ebb collection?
Or, does anyone out there have the sheet music and would be willing to trade?

And I wonder if future actors are even being taught theatre manners is college!
A few years ago, I saw a performing arts college production of "Reefer Madness: the musical". It was the last performance, a Sunday matinee, so all the kids who couldn't see it earlier came to see it. They were making so much noise during the opening number, cheering their friends and hooting and hollering, that I almost left the theatre!

Has the sheet music for the song "Ten Percent" which was cut from the musical "Chicago" ever been published? I really want to sing it for an important audition that I have coming up. If anyone out there has a copy of it, can you message me? I have some rare stuff to trade for a photocopy of it.

I also love this album. No one can match her "What Did I Have." As for the book, legend has it that James Kirkwood, who would go on to co-author the libretto of "A Chorus Line", told Lerner how much he enjoyed seeing a musical where he didn't know how it was going to end. "That was the problem," Lerner replied, "I didn't know either."

The only footage of her singing anything from the show that I know of is when she appeared on the Julie Andrews Show. It's on YouTube. It's her, Julie and Steve Lawrence sitting around having tea. First Julie sings "Say a Prayer for Me Tonight" then Angela sings "I Don't Want to Know"

These are fabulous.
I know that it must not exist anymore, but, when Irving Thalberg bought the rights to "Private Lives" for Norma Shearer,, he sent a camera crew to the theater to film Noel Coward and Gertrude Lawrence in performance.
Can you imagine how incredible that would be to see?!?!

"Home Again, Home Again" is a terrific score. The songs are fun and bouncy. They're a bit generic (with lyrics by Barbara Fried who is a greaat big quesion mark in the history of theatre), but it sounds like the show was too.
Listening to them, I'm always amazed that none of them got reused in other shows. Or in movies or as TV show theme songs. He was such a fount of melody that he never had to.

I saw Alix Korey in a show here in Pittsburgh not long after "All Shook Up" shuttered and I told her how much I enjoyed the OBC. She said that the producers were, in her words, "the stupidest in the history of theatre."
Anyone have any stories about that one?

I saw "Woman of the Year" on my second trip to New York. Like another poster here, it was my Saturday night show. Because that weekend I had already seen "Pirates of Penzance" and "42nd Street" (both with their original casts), it came off as a disappointment.

The twenty-fifth anniversary of one of my favorite musicals, "Grand Hotel" made me do some surfing on YouTube and I found something amazingly wonderful.

A complete very good video recording of the original German cast with Leslie Caron as Grushinskia with the original staging and on a replica of the original set. I'd forgotten how incredible Tommy Tune's staging was. I can't tell you how many times I've watched it since.

Listening to the cast album for the first time, back when all I knew of Sondheim was "Sweeney", "Merrily" and "Company", I had a classic WTF moment hearing "Simple" for the first time. I remember looking over at my stereo in disbelief.
Does anybody know what sort of reviews the two act reduction of the show got?

I am fond of it and It was the version that I grew up watching, but, I'm sorry, no one involved in this production could hold a candle to their counterparts in the original production, and that includes the script writer.
Though, having said that and still thinking that Julie Andrews runs rings around her in the title role, Leslie Ann Warren has a quality of such naive innocence in the part that you believe that she believes that this is all real. Julie seems a more worldly wise Cind
