I work at Disney World and our bookings for this summer are abysmal. It does seem like international travel has been very discouraged on top of Americans feeling the economic squeeze and uncertainty.

This show is produced by Barry and Fran Weissler who are pretty good at what they do and I believe have pretty deep pockets. (hopefully) to wait til it finds it's audience.

Super interesting in the Actors on Actors interview that Groff flew to Australia to see a rival Bobby Darin show and convinced those producers an Bobby Darin's son to give him the rights to do his own version. 

One of my favorite categories! Haven't seen much discussion of this category yet.

I mentioned this before but Betty Boop has a large theme park presence at Universal Studios around the world. 

I listened to a interview with Debbie Gravitte-Shapiro who did Carnival! at Encores with Anne Hathaway right before she became famous in 2002, she said that production was going to Broadway but her agents turned it down and wanted her to focus on a film career. So I imagine it's not her not wanting to but her agents rejecting offers because they don' see the value in her doing theatre :'( 

I wonder if the book of the musical will get some rewrites now that her husband has died. Realistically she is a real life Edie Beale that will probably live out her days alone in her mega mansion being haunted by the life she once had and the memories of her daughter and husband. (Yes she has other kids but they are getting to high school/college age and she will be an empty nester eventually)

They’ve definitely nominated ladies from these revue shows before in this category so a Bernadette nomination wouldn’t be surprising although I’d rather give the career boost to an up and comer originating a new role. 

Ohh ok. I got her mixed up with Claire Marie Hall. 

Any possibility this extends or becomes an open ended run? Even if Sink is not available they find a “name” actress around that age to take her place. It’s rare a play comes along that really engages with young people and is well reviewed critically.

Easter Parade was almost on Broadway with Tommy Tune but it closed out of town when Tune had an injury.

I am so happy this play is selling out and got great reviews! it's sooo good. 

I would love to see a full realized production with proper sets, costumes etc outside of the blackbox format.
