I like Kelly and a great singer but she can't act and has no experience. I don't think the money people will risk putting on a costly production on an inexperienced actor, no way.
Nice idea,but she would first have to do a few years of minor roles at least.

So far her character is a spoiled brat who gets anything she wants and daddy gets. She's rude and thinks nothing of going after a guy who is already committed. Best line so far" if your interested there is a party going on in this sweater." I find the character hilarious and she takes the script and milks it.

I've been watching Diana on Y&r for the last month. She plays Angelina daughter of a New Jersey mobster who daddy thinks she can sing to the annoyance of everyone. She starts off singing her characters awful style and blossoms OMG .Loved it.

I don't know when this starts but Diana Degarmo is now committed to the Young and Restless for an unknown length of time.I think the first episode is Oct 30? She also just finished a reading of Jawbreaker last week. Reminds me of the energizer bunny. lol

This is a bawdy , romantic, hilarious comedy with a message. Loved it need to see it again.Diana , Nancy and Nick have got to be in this. Bring on the Slime and Smile.

I thought Diana Degarmo was fantastic as Penny when she did it in 2006/7 for two 6 month runs (split because she went on tour as Brooklin) I think she still knows that role inside out, and the key roles are also by Broadway vets so I'm not worried she is a trooper.

Diana Degarmo has been cast in the movie " The First Ride of Wyatt Earp. IMDB reports it is in preproduction and is scheduled for release Sping 2012.

From St. Louis:
"9 to 5" was the country superstar's first movie role, and Dolly's been an appealing presence throughout her long career. But with her major involvement, the play skewers heavily in her favor. Her character Doralee, the boss's hubba-hubba secretary who the other gals don't like because they think she's the noxious Franklin Hart's mistress, sure is perky, dispensing down-home wisdom and a never-say-die attitude. Folks cotton to that. Diana DeGarmo, the "American Idol" Season 3 runner-up at age 16, is all grown up now at 23, looking nothing like she did seven years ago. She's still vivacious and has a terrific voice, but she has a va-va-voom, quality playing Dolly's comely character. She was a standout.
Mamie Parris is impressive as the meek Judy Bernly, as played by Jane Fonda in the movie, who needs a job because her scoundrel husband has dumped her for a younger woman (named Mindi with an "i"). Her big brassy solo number "Get Out and Stay Out" was perhaps the strongest on opening night."

"Something must also be said for DeGarmos depiction of Dolly Partons famous role, Doralee Rhodes. Doralee grows as a character throughout the musical, but more importantly, DeGarmo did extraordinarily well holding on to the essence of Parton and staying away from the persona she developed on American Idol.
Everything was perfect for the part. She was proportional to Parton, her accent was just as sweet and Southern as Partons and her voice was fabulous for the role.
If youre familiar with DeGarmos work, you might be able to pick up on her voice as it comes through when she sings some of the lower notes. Watching her in the role was fabulous she wasnt just an imitation of Parton; she owned the role in her own way."
