Friends are coming to NY to see Wicked, and they can't stay with me in Brooklyn because I'll be moving. Damn those WIcked tickets are $$$$$$$$, right? Anyway, can any nice people here recommend a decent hotel near the Gershwin? Not looking for luxury or anything like that. Relatively affordable with no frills is good... but CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN is the key. Kids will be included. Just has to be safe and CLEAN. Overkill, I wasn't looking for a fight, apologies for coming off that way. I was just responding - a bit perplexed why a downplay of her performance would include the tomboy thing, since that's often been a part of her appeal (from the very beginning of her first Broadway role) through to Pennywise, though she has obviously played against that type many times. I am not exactly sure what value there is to judging her negatively as Penelope Pennywise as a "Tomboy". How should Pennywise be played? As Audrey Hepburn? Grace Kelly? The character only seems to work when played exactly as Andrea McArdle played her. Personally, I found her Pennywise completely engaging and fun and FUNNY.
